Beaulieu - 31st July 2010 - That Glorious Noise Concert

The weather is not too good in Devon, but being British you get used to it I hope it cheers up for everyone at Beaulieu by the time the gates open, and everyone has arrived safely. Russell will be on Top Form, as he has been at all these concerts. So everything is worthwhile if you are in his company. Enjoy everyone.

It's 11.30pm and we've just got back to the hotel. We've all had a wonderful evening. After a wet start to the day, it did eventually dry up and we've enjoyed a completely dry concert with sun shine all the way.

Some of us got choc-chocs, arranged by Richard Atkinson, for attending all four concerts, which I thought was really nice.

The concert took the same format as the three previous ones but no less enjoyable. Russell was on top form and, as there was no request not to video I did manage to get The Theme from The Godfather. I'll make that available just as soon as I get back home.

Russell arrived at the stage in a classic car driven by Lord Montagu. Somewhat special.

The Rodillian Singers were, on this occasion, led by Sir Bill Hayward, their own MD being in Borneo.

At the end of the concert, little Austin once more came on stage in his Batman t-shirt and, in the blink of an eye, Russell was taking his jacket off and donning an adult size Batman t-shirt the same as Austin's. A magical moment.

I'll sort out some photographs and maybe bits of video just as soon as I get back home tomorrow or Monday.

Good to see some familiar faces not seen for a while.

JillwithaJay...thanks for staying up late and giving us a review. I am always thinking of you all and Russell and I know the concerts are taking place, so I am always there in spirit.

So like Russell to think of having the same t-shirt as Austin......I am sure he was thrilled and it is something for him always to remember. Hope they had their picture taken together.

Jill, thank you so much for taking the time to come on site so promptly to end our 'waiting' anticipation! I am so happy to hear that you all had a great time once again and that the rain cleared up for you. I am beginning to think that Russell has a special agreement with the Man upstairs!
